I've been interested in possibly getting a couple chicks who would eventually greenish eggs . . .Easter Eggers or Ameracunas? Is that right?

Anyway, I have been told that both breeds aren't very social with people, and don't make the best pets for kids. Is this true??

Thank you!

I don't have any, but if you look through the EE threads, you'll find a lot of people that just LOVE their EE's! I read so much about how great they are that I may have to get some one day when I add another flock!

I have two EE's. The one that we raised from a day old chick is VERY friendly. You can pick her up, hug her, anything! We bought our other EE at a feed store at 18 weeks and shes okay. She will tolerate being handled and petted, but really just likes to be left alone. If you want them to be friendly I would suggest getting them as chicks and handling them often. I love them!

I have 3 easter eggers, two are friendly...one not so much. It depends on how they are handled, they seem to be a little more flightly then a standard chicken. But I love mine and I love getting those beautiful green eggs. I would say they are the greatest layers, but they are fun!
