are guinea fowl aggressive??

Hello I was wondering if guinea fowl are aggressive? I'm thinking about getting me a guinea hen not a male but a hen for my flock. Are they aggressive? Im wanting one to warn me of predators for my chickens. Do they get along with chickens? I've always wanted a guinea but its iffy for me right now. I need opinions first.

Some can be, but I suggest a flock of guineas. they definately are not chickens, and as such don't socalize the same ways. they roam much farther, and like to pair up with their mates. Our guineas outnumber chickens by a large number and they get along fine, but not everyone has the same experience.

just curiosity, why not a male? besides you cannot sex guineas until they are older, so you would not get one and brood it and guarantee a female, but you could brood a bunch and find homes for the ones you dont want to keep. just thinking with my keyboard.

I'm scared to get a male because of my 6 roosters. And if I get a brood of guineas where I live I have no one to give the ones I don't want to.

I bought my first six guineas from a local swap several years ago.
Loved them!
They laid eggs and I kept the babies.
I allowed my chickens to raise the guinea babies.
I have since sold all the original guineas.

I said all that to say that guineas can become aggressive over food and territory.
They will chase chickens away from whatever area they choose to be 'their own' at that time.
I sold my original guineas because of this.
The guineas I have now have all been raised by broody chicken moms, so they think they're chickens and are not aggressive at all.
They are more tame like my chickens, but they still retain the guinea 'guard dog' behavior.

The guinea males are not necessarily aggressive towards roosters... and roosters don't seem to mind the guineas.
