Are maran's freindly?

I have one black copper maran (Eva) and she is probably one of the smartest chickens we have. Also one of the loudest. But she is not mean to the other chickens and she's nice to me, but not cuddly. I would say that other than her voice (which could probably peel wallpaper) she is a lady.

We have had him since he was a day or two old, we've handled him, caught him, fed him, talked to him, he even used to perch on our shoulders, and heads..... all of a sudden after a year he turns into the devil!! He has been more clam the last couple days, but I have spent a TON of time walking in and out of the coop (at least once an hour or every two hours) I've been keeping an eye on my little Genie! She was getting pecked by the others..... He is a little better but still acts agitated when I enter..... I'll give him a chance, I still love him!

I have 2, two week old cuckoo marans. So far so good...I do handle them several times a day. I want them to be used to me....I talk softly to my chicks and pick them up very gently several times a day........
