Are my birds true Ameraucana or Easter eggers?

From what i see your birds are Amaucanas. Which is also easter-eggers.That's just another name for them. The true ARAUCANA originated from Chile. They have no tails or beards, only tuffs and lay the sky blue egg. Randy from, Randysroosters Inc.

easter eggers are mutts, ameraucana are a recognized APA breed.

all of them look like pullets, the browns are EE and the splash may be an ameraucana. My Ameraucana are almost 6 months and still aren't laying, although the roos keep trying to grab them

I think your splash might be an Ameraucana as well.

Krista, it is a good sign when the boys start grabbing the girls. They usually know something is up with those girlies. Look for eggs in the next week to two.

My Ameraucanas hatched at the end of July finally started laying.

But she finally let my Golden Lakenvelder catch her today...

chirpy.. thanks for the web-site.. it answered a few of my questions too...

now the question is WHERE to get the ameracaunans???
i thought i was ordering them from ideal this last year.. but i guess they sell EE.. i was kinda ticked:mad:

Thanks, you guys! All my birds came from feed stores. So I believe they are EE's. As for Whitey, the Splash she lays green eggs. And I've had her almost 2 years. She's my favorite! The only one that can be loved on! So, No mystery there she must be an EE. Gosh, these birds are confusing.

The brown/black one is a female EE and the splash could be a true Ameraucana, but as another posted said, if you got them from the same place, chances are they are both EE's.
