Are my chickens molting? Dry skin and feathers disappearing

Hello every body!

I am currently having a situation where my chickens head/neck feathers have disappeared. Today I went outside and two of my six chickens feathers were gone. One of them Levi my Easter egg chicken feathers/fluff have disappeared from her chin and neck. The other chicken is Babs my Buff Orpington whos feathers are gone around her comb and her head. Since its winter I have been putting Vaseline on their combs to protect them from frostbite, but I haven't put any on them last night so I don't see what she could have done to herself that would remove the feathers. We have had them for about 9 months and nothing like this has ever happened, and I'm not to sure if its molting because they each laid eggs the day before.

Any sign of mites/lice?.Check under vent and wings.

Are the feathers coming back in? How long has this been going on? Are they with a rooster?

Maybe try these,

So far since I only noticed it today the feathers have not been growing back. At the most this has been going on for two days and all of them are hens so there are no roosters. I plan on looking for lice tomorrow. Thank you for the recommendations as well!

Did you see feather shafts?If so they are probably molting.

That's the strange thing, on Levi there is about 4 or 5 feather shafts but besides that on each of them it's just their skin.

So far babs has gotten worse, but we will be getting poultry dust today hopefully to stop lice if they have any.
