We live in Arkansas and the weather have been about 80°-90° during the day and depending on overcast and all about 40°-60° at night. My chick are about two months old and almost but not quite fully feathered. Still need to work on the head and neck areas. Is it safe for them to be out day and night without them freezing? I'm new to the fluffy baby part and having a hard time letting go. They enjoy the field trips and get pretty mad when I bring them back in :/

I'm in South Carolina and it's been about that temp here.. the coolest nights about 50. I put 4 5-6 week old chicks out a little over a week ago and they're doing great.. they're even returning to their roosting spot in the evenings. The first few days they were using the nesting box but for the last few nights they've been perching just like the older chickens. My advice is just watch the weather, provide a good break from the wind and rain.

Well this is our coop. Home made of course but it has three sides walled in. The right side is waiting on two ducklings to feather. I'm just having a hard time with it lol. My fiancée had gotten a backyard chicken book and has been trying to tell me for a week to put them out. And I should because they are starting to get to big for the cage they are in lol. Guess I just needed more reassurance and advise from experienced chicken parents. Thank you so much and the chicks thank you as well lol

My new batch will go outside next week at 3 - 3.5 week, If not sooner they are growing quickly.. This is the same as with previous batches.. As long as they can get out of any rain the will do good..

Well thank you all! I'm just a bit emotional about it lol guess that's why my fiancée call me mother nature. Limbo well I guess I'm gonna go make my chicks happy lol
