Hey y’all,

I put some duck eggs in the incubator on 12 March. This morning, my power went out around 10:30. I was on a work call and forgot about the incubator until 11:15. I ran next door to my in laws and plugged the incubator in there. The temp read 77-83 degrees on my thermometers. Are my ducks dead or do you think they will make it?

I haven’t candled them since the power went out. How can I confirm if they are still alive?

Your ducklings should be alright. Don’t rush to candle the eggs. Keep them in the incubator for now so they can get warm again.

I’ve been candling them up until this point. I haven’t candled them since. I hope everything will be fine.

Stay calm, I had duck eggs for 2 days with irregular heat. Ducks are hardy just dont handle and candle them to much.

Could you post a picture candling them? More than likely they will be fine, I've had broodys go off the nest for a few hours and the babies hatched fine, hatch time might just be delayed a bit.
