Are my eggs dead?

I have 2 mallard eggs and I don’t know if they are alive or dead the first one is this one: (it’s day 22)

I don’t believe this one is alive but my husband says that it might just hatch late
the second one I believe is alive but it has a slight smell to it and I am unsure if that means it is dead:

please let me know if you know if they are still alive

They both look dead. Smell is a sure sign of death. Do you see any veins or movement?

From the side? Looks like they did it right.

From the side the air cell can be seen plainer and there's usually less reflected light.

They both look dead. Smell is a sure sign of death. Do you see any veins or movement?

No veins and I’m not quite sure if it was the egg or just me but a few small chirps
