We are incubating 6 Araucana eggs and we are on day 19. On day 17/18 they were shaking a lot but on day 19 they have all stopped. Is this normal? We read that they were resting but others said that the embryo has stopped developing. Can you please help me out?

When they are to the hatching stage it's harder for them to move around. Before they were getting in a position to hatch. Now they are absorbing the yolk sac. Have you candled to see if they have internally pipped? You would see a beak in the air cell.

Ok, thanks

I had this same issue with my cochin and silkie eggs. Day 20 came and went yesterday with no pips or movements. Then between last night and this morning two eggs pipped. I don't know the outcome of the hatch yet as they aren't out of the woods - and I suspect some humidity issues - but just to let you know to hang in there!

Please let me know how your Cochins and silkies get along

We have 11 Cochins (10 hens, 1 roo) and a pair of silkies (hen and roo) together that get along great! I think the important thing was that we introduced a bunch of cochin pullets and the silkie pair at the same time. The silkie pair is super submissive and sort of keep to their own most of the time - and the Cochins don't seem to bother with them.
