Are my eggs safe?

I have hens that lay a brown shelled egg but lately some of the shells are getting much lighter and appear to have "freckles" ??? I don't have a rooster but because I share my eggs with friends, I want to make sure they are still healthy eggs. Any feedback will be appreciated.

I would think they would be fine. Hens will not always lay eggs that look exactly the same as they did the day before. As long as the hen isn't taking medicine or is otherwise obviously healthy, the eggs are okay to eat (in my own opinion). My hens will sometimes lay 'speckled' eggs too, I suspect that the calcium for the shell was just layered unevenly.
