Are my quail confused ... or is this normal...

They started laying (yay!!

) but they lay at 7pm every night.... is that normal?? I assume it isn't a problem, but its funny. just curious - when do your hens lay?

I only have 4 laying and they all lay about 6 to 7pm at night. Different ages too....about 2 months difference in age/ hatches. Brown, Fawn or Roux dilute?? and two Italians.

Not that the color would/or ever could indicate a laying time...just throwing it out there.

only two laying so far this year at about 3pm, but it's following last years pattern. Most of the girls were done sometime between 2pm and 4pm, with the odd straggler laying later in the day.

Coturnix are on a whole other schedule compared to other poultry... they normally lay their eggs in the evening.

MINE PREDOMINATELY LAY AFTER THE FEED HAS BEEN DISPENSED WHICH IS LATE AFTERNOON OR EARLY EVENING.... THEY WILL LAY ALL THE WAY TIL DARK. I HAVE A FEW OVERACHEIVERS THAT LAY EARLIER IN THE DAY BUT MOST ARE ON 3-11 SHIFT
