Are my Turkeys to Young to Sell?

My birds were born May 14 and we were planning to cook one for us, but were leaving the rest for next year. I just had a friend approach me wanting to buy two. She has watched how we have raised them naturally with love and care. She wants one for herself and one for her MIL. I was iffy because I thought they were too young, but now after seeing a pic on here of one about the same age dressed and beautiful, I'm wondering if maybe we should sell them. We have heritage breed bourban reds. Mine were raised with feed in their coop at all times, but are free range and all over the place all day and only go in their coop at night. We have no idea how much they weigh. My husband is thinking of weighing them first before we decide. If we do sell these young turkeys (they are 6 months old) that were free ranged and raised naturally, How much should we price them at???

Bump.....I dont know...I think I have standard bronze about the same age and they are NOT too young, in fact I am worried about just the opposite....that they will have a heart attack and die before I get to it!! I owuld never do these again...it wasa an impulse buy at the feed store....I would love to try some heritage turkeys....

Also..I would sell them for what >I< thought they were worth....or I wouldn't sell them....I put an enormous amount of time and effort, care and love into my birds, they are worth more than any commercially grown bird available....just sayin'

The selling price varies from area to area. Try your local craigslist and see if there are any for sale in there. Around here I can get about $30 each for a live turkey. I have seen in other areas people getting twice or 3 times that.

There is a post below that talks about how much per pound to sell a turkey. Do you want what others on line are getting for free ranged turkeys? If you google it you can get the prices. Like this site. http://www.heritagefoodsusa.com/ If your looking for local prices look on craigs list. For me it is whatever people are willing to pay. I have sold some for $40 when I have to many. This year I had to many toms. I found a buyer that took them for $150.

I just sold a BR hen (not that big) for $100. I didn't have to process it either.

Id say 30-40$ or more if the birds is above 20lbs!
