I took in some chickens a little less than a month ago, and one of them may have an impacted crop. The chicken is hardly eating or drinking, and lost quite a bit of weight. The crop feels soft and squishy, but the breath doesn't smell sour (at least, not right now). If it is pooping, it is too little for me to really notice.
Some things I tried are:
- Giving it deworming medicine. Doesn't seem to have helped.
- Massaging crop. Still hadn't seen much.
I tried giving them olive oil mix today, not sure if it'll help. I took away the feed for now to avoid increased blockage. My mom recently lost the diamond stone in her ring, and not sure where it is. Is there a chance the chicken swallowed it and it won't pass? I feel like it should be small enough to pass (it's 1 carat) but not 100% sure. It's been roughly 3 days, is there any other fixes I can try? I don't want to put it down if I don't have to, but I don't want it to slowly starve to death either.
