Granny's gone and done it again

Hi Iris! Anything new today?
Sorry I did not reply last night. I went to bed shortly after I posted that. Nothing new from the doctor today, we just got all the paperwork done. It's going to be a long week waiting for the surgery day. There are some of his pain meds he can't take until after surgery and he is going to be in more pain because of it.

Sorry to hear that, Iris. Can he try ice packs to quiet the nerves down? I've become a big believer in them since my shoulder surgery and still use one on my shoulder a lot of evenings to quiet it down so I can get to sleep. I have many of the findings he had on his MRI's so I can well imagine how much pain he will be in. Tell him to hang in there and we are all rooting for him, please. Keeping you both in my prayers.

Thank you for the prayers, all are appreciated. We will try the ice as well as well as Biofreeze. He is spending a lot of time in bed.

@microchick, sounds like Ronald McDonald houses a lot of hospitals have. A real blessing, those kinds of places. Some families have to stay in them long term.
The manager told us that since the hospital became affiliated with the Missouri Cancer Associates (I think that is who they said) they were going to be providing a lot of outpatient type services and treatments so they wanted to provide a place for family members...and patients who weren't inpatients...to stay as long as they needed to. It was perfect since we live 3 hours from the hospital and his procedure was scheduled for 8 AM we didn't have to get up at 3 and dodge deer to get there. Plus the house was was like a quarter of a block away from the hospital proper next to their parking lot. All we had to do was throw our overnight bags in the car and walk over to the hospital.

Some are 7 days before some are the day before.

Immaculate. It was like a big ranch style home with a central living room/kitchen/dining area with corridors where the rooms were. I won't say that the bedrooms were huge, just bed, nightstands, dresser and TV but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and nice. I'd definitely use the service again should fate wind us up that far from home again. Well worth 40 dollars a night.
