I know exactly what you mean. I've put roosters on Craigslist. They ask for free and delivery. They also ask if I have any hens that I want to give away.It was a tough decision, but I had to pass. We don't have poultry swaps here, and selling chickens on craigslist has been a miserable experience for me. I always get messages from ppl who want the chickens for free because it's for 4H, or it's for their "rescue", or they're on fixed income and can't afford more than $5 per hen. I don't know how people manage to sell chickens without losing their minds.
My answer is always this :
" No hens, and if you can't afford to drive a little for my rooster, then you can't afford to feed him."
