Are plums okay for hens to eat?

They can have grapes and the only thing I have found on plums is that the pits are toxic

Why do you say chickens can't have grapes?  Mine love them.

They can have seedless grapes. The seeds can be toxic.

They would have to eat a ton of seeds for them to be toxic. No problem giving them grapes. Just like apples. They would have to have a diet of nothing but apple seeds to have any effect.

I know this is an older thread but I found it when trying to see if plums were safe for chickens. We have a couple over ripe ones. I am about to go see if my sometimes picky girls like plums. I will remove the pits. Also, I want to say that grapes are fine. Mine eat them all the time. But then again I have only bought seedless. But I wonder if maybe their response that chickens can’t have them simply comes from the fact that dogs and other pets cannot??? They are toxic to dogs and maybe they just assumed that they were toxic to chickens too. But that’s not true and dogs and chickens are very different. Anyhow, I think mine would be pretty upset if I stopped giving them grapes and watermelon in the summer!! Blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries too.
