Are Quails Songbirds?

Are quails related to, or anywhere in the songbird family? I think they are. If not, what are they? I'm getting confused! Folks, I depend on you; I need your help!

I'd be really thankful for all of your advice!

There is a list of songbirds, but Quail did not make the list. I am assuming that by "quail", you are refering to the Northern Bobwhite, the California and the Gamble Quail falls more into the "game bird" category. And by no means does the Coturnix quail fall into the "songbird" category. There were times when my males would send chills down my spine. Now, I've learned to ignore them.

Not even remotely lol. They are galliformes like chickens or pheasants or turkeys.

I do like the sounds they make. I love that bomb dropping sound.
