Are roade island red roosters aggressive?

I hatched one chick and it turned out to be a roo which is good because his daddy was killed by a predator the same day he hatched. His daddy is a black silkie and mom RIR. He was very sweet as a chick used to sleep in my hand. I’m a little afraid now after reading all the bad experiences with RIR Roos. He’s about 16 weeks now and isn’t mean yet but he’s starting to mount the older hens
