Are salmon faverolles fragile?

I think it depends on the breeder. Mine love the cold but hate the heat. And they love food.

I agree, they are like the cochins..very soft and gentle, but definitely hardy.

You could always order some SILKIES, then the Favorolles would be the tough ones in the crowd.

i've heard a lot of people who got them from hatcheries had issues with them being fragile as chicks, but they also ordered some other breeds that were energetic and bullied them. i've seen a few of the adult pics and some of their colors are far off from where they should be.

i've only hatched mine and i've had the best hatching luck with the favs than other breeds i tried, though i ended up with a lot of cockerels out of one of the batches. mine didn't seem fragile at all! very cute too!

We will just put it this way the one silkie I have ever owned moved to the big coop in the sky very quickly after moving in. She wasn't in with the bantam favs though she was in with a bunch of teenage LF
