Are Serama More Precocial?

Hi! The eggs should hatch in 21 days (but don't be surprised if they hatch at Day 19 or Day 20).
I would remove the roo just to be safe, but honestly, I've never had a Serama hen go seriously broody and always artificially incubate my Ser' eggs.
The roo might be fine with the hen tending chicks or he might see them as a threat/annoyance and who-knows-what-goes-on-in-a-chicken-mind.
I think I've read Serama roos tend to be attentive parents, but never proved it here.

You know its weird, but I have some roos that do this little dance thing for the hens...where they put their wings out sideways and sorta shake them and shuffle toward the hen. Those roos seem to be the best and most gentle...

She actually went broody on 1 egg i had been collecting them from her and i guess i didnt notice the last one quick enough. I was planning on putting them in my incubator but i just put the 4 i had collected under her and she seems fine with them so far. She started sitting on the 1st and so far she is pretty protective over her eggs. And her roo does the little dance for her. It is so cute. So hopefully i will have some good serama parents.. My 2 year old is running around saying we have a "broody serama mama" I am so excited.

Hopefully she will stay there. Mine are pretty broody. Once they sit, its like heck trying to break them up, but she is young.
I think she can do it. Just put her food and water close so she doesnt forget her eggs and dont let the roo mess with her.
My sweet roo "Red" would go in the box and sleep on her if any of his hens went broody, lol"

Our nest box is actually a converted dog house. She will let her roo step in the door but that is about the extent of it. She wont let him near her. He keeps a close eye on here and sleeps roosted on the bottom edge of the opening to the nest house. She is coming off the nestr 1 time a day and only for about 20 minutes tops. Then she is back on and grumpy if you get too close. And those beautiful little birds can peck pretty hard if you get too close top a broodys nest. And by the way her name is Dill and her roo is Seraneaux

I have two hens setting on eggs, when one gets off the other takes her eggs and vise versa. The roo does sometimes get on them when I reach in, he has been trying to keep me from the egg for a while so now unless he sees I am specifically after just the food or water dish, he goes after me. I got a glimps of 5 eggs today when one hen went to get food and the other went to move those eggs in with hers. I am hoping they do well with hatching since I hatched 3 out of 3 in my bator.
