Are sex-links more prone to disease and egg problems?

Are sex-links more prone to disease and egg problems because they aren't a true breed?

I would say no ,from what I have read about them they are supposed to be hardy and pretty good at fighting off diseases.

I have what you call Sex-links, and they are amazing birds.

I got them first at the end of September as POL, and a week after my sister bought a variety of breeds, mine were all laying by December and I have never had a day without an egg from each, they coped with all the bad weather we had in the UK, and they are lovely friendly girls.

My sister did not have a full set of eggs until February, and she has 10 chickens, I have 4. She still has days when she only gets 4-5 eggs.

I would not swop them for the world. Here they are called Black Rocks.

I have sex links, too' mind they are only a year old (almost) but friendly healthy birds.
