Are Silkies normally quite??? and more Q's

My silkies were quiet..

The silkies I have mostly just make a soft clucking unless something is up, the roo does have a pretty good crow.
My younger silkies don't weigh much but the older ones seem to be a bit heavier.
I have my silkies mainly to brood for other birds eggs. They have even shared nests of hatching eggs. They are very good mommies, I had 3 of 5 on guinea eggs this summer and one of the eggs hatched when I was at work and the keet worked itself out of the nest to the floor, one of the silkies that hadn't been on any nest was sitting still as could be on the floor covering this little keet when I opened the door when I got home, and then she didn't want to give him up. Definitely good moms, very protective of chicks.
