Are Silkies, Well, Strange?

My boys started crowing (a funny, sweet crow) at 9 and 10 weeks (mother's day til this week). Silkie hens can crow too, especially if there is a dominant hen without a rooster in the flock. I read tons of articles about this because I can't have crowing in my urban setting.

I'm really glad to know that this is all just normal behavior for silkies. In my mind, I think it gives them even more uniqueness. They are indeed special. This morning I was in the hen house raking out the straw and laying in the new. All hens stayed outside--the rake scares them, even though I try to move slowly/carefully. Just one hen stayed inside with me--our bantam blue silkie, Miss Chickie Hollow. It's endearing. I would like a couple more just like her. :)
