Hi :)

I am a quail breeder and I am looking for some new quail. I have settled on snowflake bobwhites and the only fertilised eggs I have been able to find are 6 for £20. The breeder assures me this is a good price as he was once offered £300 for a breeding trio. I am just wondering if they really as rare as he is making out and if they are worth this price?

Thanks

Snowflake Bobwhites are not rare, but not all that common either. Not that many folks raise these birds and I don't now why because not only are they quite pretty, but they are more docile than the average Bob.

I don't know what the conversion of Lira's in to Dollars, but around here the eggs can go for $1 to $5 a piece. It depends on the breeding quality of the birds. Because they are not all that common, they can be pricey, especially over seas where these birds are not raised much.

I personally think if you have the opportunity to raise them, go for it. Well worth the effort.

Hello,

Thank you for your answer. I already have some northern bobwhite but I thought these were so pretty and all I have heard is good about them so I will give them a go. Turns out I managed to find some at a much cheeper price so I guess it depends on the seller.

Thanks again
