Are some breeds just naturally thinner than others?

I have 15 big girls, my barred rocks and my black sex link are nice and plump. But my leghorns and comets are very skinny. I have checked to make sure there are no mites/lice so that isnt it. My barred rocks and Reds are the only ones that have all their feathers too, i think i know who is running the roost! Could it be the breeds or do i have food hogs?

Leghorns will look skinnier, not sure about comets though, I've never heard of them. But if you feel them and they just feel too slim, you may have a problem. If you can feel their bones they are too then. My birds always have full crops and look plump. The feathers may also disguise the weight of the plumper ones, so I would feel them too. If everyone is skinny it may be worms, but if it is just a few then you might want to alter their feeders.

I would set up two or three stations in separate areas, so that everyone has a chance.

leghorns are naturaly thin.. but as for your comets, I have comets myself and they are a little smaller then our rhode island reds but still a good size
