My Phoenix hen (Granny) was 15 years old when I rehomed her. I had to trim her spurs about every 3-4 weeks.
I got her and they were 3.5" long! She was a fighter too. If someone got in her way she let 'em have it! A peck to the head usually did it but if they objected a lash of those spurs sent them running away for cover.
I loved Granny!

My Silver Phoenix hen was a crower too, and she had a set of spurs that put most roosters to shameI lost her to a hawk last summer, sure do miss that girl- she was a hoot!
