Are swan legal in Arkansas?

My friend told me that you couldn't own swans in Arkansas. Are they illegal or do you just need a permit?

I have never heard of such a law. there may be regulations in some cities about owning poultry.
Do not believe everything you hear.

I was wondering. I went to a catfish buffet in Leola and they had a black swan.

Black swans are less regulated than Mute swans. I need a permit for Mute swans here in Michigan and I must have them pinioned so they can not fly because they are considered an invasive species and the Department of Natural resources does not want them getting loose and reproducing. The black swan is considered an "exotic" species so I would not need a permit. Mute swans are regulated differently by the states' Department of Natural Resources.

Call your local Fish & Wildlife department.......
in Ohio, ours actively "eliminate" mutes left free (you know, from the wonderfully responsible owners

) but those that are pinioned and in some way contained to the owner's property are fine!
