Are the ameracaunas from ideal pure ameracaunas?

Does anyone know about the 'Ameracaunas' from Meyer? MPC sells EE's but they also offer both EE and Ameracauna hatching eggs, so I'm curious if these are the real thing.

Highly doubt it. I believe MPC also claims to have real Ameraucanas and seperates them from the EE's - May or may not be so.
although Meyer sells their stuff to MPC. . .

A sad thing I actually found out a couple weeks ago is that I tried to actually contact Ideal Hatchery and ask about their Easter Eggers - They did NOT want to go down, hah - They claimed up and down that they were purebred Ameraucanas, no matter what I said - Even when I mentioned that they claimed to breed them for their color too - Umm, their colors are so unrecognized I don't know if I should call their hens partridge, wheaten, or just. . . mishmash. I truly did not expect that they would lie to me like that. It's SO obvious, you can't just lie to someone who knows and can see it. . . Plain and clear. . .

As I understand it, pure bred Ameracaunas tend to start laying fairly late, and don't lay as well. So hatcheries, who are mainly selling to people who want high egg production, either breed EEs to each other, or put a Ameracuna roo over hens from good egg laying breeds, to get colored eggs and high production. Also, a lot of people like the variety of green, pink or even lavender eggs that come from EE's. Even on this forum, there are several people who are producing 'designer' EE's, usually with an eye to getting a particular color of egg.
