Are the runt eggs fertile?

i don't think so all i have are coturnixs already hatched 5 sets all are basicly the same size i recieved this egg on the day after a cold snap didn't know if it would hatch but put it in the bator anyways it is doing fine saturday it will be a week old the breeder i bought my quail from didn't have any buttons not saying it ain't possible to skip several generations but think it's unlikly

That is cute. I wonder if he'll always be little or will he fill out.....
I am gonna try to hatch a couple of them. I get about 2 or 3 runty ones a month.

Are they small like their very first eggs or smaller?

I'm with beastmaster i get a few a month as well don't know why but they seem to hatch well i have a few in the bator that are about the same size as it was we shall see
