Are there any collie lovers out there?

How could you not love collies?? Especially if you are my age and grew up watching "Lassie!" They are so beautiful!
I never have had a pure bred collie, but growing up we had a collie/shephard mix named Sunny. Sunny won 4-H reserve grand champion at the state fair for obedience. She was amazing, and sooo sweet. She looked a lot like Carole AM's Brandie, only much bigger. We also had her sister Jody, who wasn't nearly as smart, but was a lover all the same.

Brandi's "other half" is a Belgian tevuren shepherd!

When we first bought our house, we had a german shepherd/border collie mix. Another great dog!

You know Greyfields I do have a male and female......I got them both to breed for agility dogs , or cattle dogs. I could send a pup when I get a litter.

Im an old timer love the Parader lines...we had some lines going to Hanover's, Sujim's.....most of the collies we bred to were the oldies breeders out in near Chicago, Illinois. However I would avoid the lines to Mr Onderful.....his offsprings had alot of skin problems and their offsprings thereafter had ongoing problems too. We had one female collie that was a daughter of his and she had bad skin problems that we had to put her down.....poor girl was so sweet but she smelled of dead flesh....we even enlisted the help from U of I and they did everything they could for her.

One thing to remember not to cross sable to merle colors.....I dont see a problem with them but some breeders are hard wired not showing sable merle dogs becaue of the diluted color of the merle or unattractive. To me, they were beautiful. Including the white Collies...I love their colors! I am not crazy about tricolors, we had two of them and they were good pets but awful in thunderstorms and guns going off while the others were fine about it.

Hey allyoops if you have cattledog pups you could always send me one.

I too was raised wathcing Lassie and had a collie shepherd mix. Ours was Koko and she came from the CT Humane Society. She was sweet and smart but terrified of thunder. One of the smartest dogs I've ever known.

I had a sheltie collie mix someone dumped him on a busy road, my friend and I were on our way out to go shopping, and saw him, I was driving and pulled over, my friend jumped out she left the door open she went around the back of the truck, the dog came to the front of the truck I called him and he jumped in! I advertised, called shelters, etc no one ever claimed he so he was mine that was about 15 years ago now, What a great dog he was I named him Jake, He also hated loud noises, thunderstorms but he loved going places in the truck.
