Are there any hatcheries that ship less than 25 chicks?

Meyer Hatchery will send as few as 3 and doesn't use males for warmth, rather, they slip in a heating pack with the chicks and pack them in a smaller box.

Ideal isnt a bad place they get a small box and close off some of the holes for warmth.When I ordered the chicken came perfectly healthy and fine.

I've had bad luck with sick chickens with Ideal.

Mt Healthy hatchery is min 15 birds...
My Pet Chicken you can buy as few as 3 at a time.

Well, you live in maine so the distance is a bit far. I live down the road from that place so some situations are a bit different.

The chicks when they arrived were fine and all happy and healthy...so the distance wasn't a problem, especially when I got them the very next day.
It was later... I ordered 6 BLK Langshans, 3 barred Rocks and 3 RIR. I lost all the langshans after about 7 weeks (weak) and 3 out of the others ended up with Mareks...only one survived and will have a limp for life. Ideal reccommends that you don't vaccinate for Mareks if you have a small flock...so, I didn't. UGH
Also, although customer service is sufficient, they are not very helpful and very much in a hurry...
Hope that clarified my rather incomplete note earlier...
I will not be ordering from them again for obvious 'multiple' reasons.
And YES, I agree....their stock is NOT quality at all (also, the advertised Americana birds are really Easter Eggers)

CACKLE HATCHERY I REPEAT CACKLE HATCHERY . they have deals on small orders of chicks. look on there website . i ordered from them last year they arrived april 3rd. 2009. all of mine are healthy and laying great i got 6 golden laced wyandottes, and 6 cinnamon queens.

I have had very good luck with My Pet Chicken. My chickens arrive healthy, happy and the correct breed and sex. The one time I was sent the incorrect eggs, their customer service proved to be excellent, and a refund was sent immediately.
