IMO, this isn’t true. Even if people say, ‘I’m not sure, I hope it gets better,’ that isn’t ‘dross’ or ‘clogging up the thread‘ it’s people giving support or even just acknowledging that for themselves.Countless posts I scroll through, people leave responses that are:
This forum has the potential to be a great resource for folks, but more often than not I feel I'm sifting through the above dross to find just the smallest bits of useful info. A little better moderation of the boards would be a great start to fixing this.
- Unrelated to the original post
- Hijacking the thread with their own issues
- Leaving unsolicited advice that does not help the OP
- Unhelpful and clog up the thread, eg "I don't know." Which to me is the most baffling thing of all....if you don't have any helpful info, why are you posting?
In your thread, people tried to help, you never responded, and then now are complaining over here.
Ever heard the saying, “Before you point out the twig in someone else’s eye, take the log out of your own’?
I do agree, people sometimes hijack threads, or have a little drifting off the topic, but if the OP cares, they usually say so. Often they are in on the drifting, I know from experience.
Often, people are misinformed and don’t know that they are not helping. People usually correct them.
So, maybe read a little further, and see how this forum is better than most in terms of help. See how we are kind to one another. See that most on here only mean the best. I know from actually talking and responding and helping.
