The store I purchased my girls (and boy) from lied to me previously. So, can someone tell me what these chickies are? They're between 7-8 weeks old. The box was labeled "ameraucana."

Generally speaking, ee are better layers than true ameraucana....so 8f your goal was pretty eggs you will likely be happier with these. If you want true ameraucana, source from a reputable breeder. It helps to know true ameraucana should be sold as specific varieties/color types.....a quick way to know you are getting the real thing. Very few commercial hatcheries offer true ameraucana, and they are priced accordingly.....as most retailers source commercially you are unlikely to get true ameraucana in a retail chick bin

Honestly, my boyfriend wanted the EE but all they had were the "ameraucana" so we settled on them. He wanted the pretty colored eggs, so this works out better!
