Are these auto-sexing?

I recently acquired these little guys.

They are half Cream Leg and half Easter Egger. I know both need have similar heritage. Are these guys autosexing like the legbar or do they just happen to look like this?

Well, they wouldn't be autosexing, but they might be sex linked. Was the mother or the father the cream legbar, and if the mother was the cream legbar, was the EE father barred or no?

If the mother was the legbar and the father was not barred, any that feather out barred are male, and any that are not barred are female.

I would guess they're not auto-sexing. I'd doubt they were sex linked with the wild type pattern as babies.

Right, but because they're a cross, it eliminates that quality.

After doing a little research, before I posted this thread, I had concluded that they probably aren't autosexing.However due to my limited knowledge on the genetics of chicken breeding I decided to ask. I was also thinking that they were sex links but I was not sure, again because of my lack of knowledge of genetics in chicken breeding. So here's my next question. Is there a chicken breeding and brooding generous books for dummies?

Unfortunately nothing. Barring on males will pass to both genders of offspring, so there's no way to use it to determine sex. It only works if the female parent is barred and the male parent is not.

It means that all of the chicks will be barred. Which is good, because otherwise, you had one heck of a lot of males.
