Are these bad eggs? (Candling)

Yes. The brown egg was hard to determine, but as today is hatch day, it wasn't looking right. It looked brown inside, wasn't moving and there was a lack of healthy blood vessels. It also wasn't the right size either. I just knew something wasn't right with it but I left it until hatch day. It died around day 10-14 I believe.

Just be careful when chucking eggs! It's better to wait and have a "stinker" than a live baby that you accidentally killed! If you suspect one is bad, put a cupcake wrapper under it so if it leaks it doesn't get stuck to the incubator and explodes.

Yeah, I did leave the suspicious eggs under the hen for the time being just to be safe! Pretty sure there's a couple of non-hatchers in the bunch but time will tell! I had one that looked identical to your top pic, but I had left it. Once the hen decides she's done hatching, I'll candle the remaining ones and snap some pics if they aren't just all dark.

Alright! So my broody left the nest with her 4 chicks, and 5 eggs were still in the nest. I candled them and here are the pics/results!

Egg 2

Egg3

Egg4

Egg5

Then I cracked each of them open. Eggs 1-4 pretty much looked the same- milky opaque whites and an orangey intact yolk, with a fairly thick membrane. Egg 5 was similar to the others but also had a tiny bit of veining. I'm assuming the first 4 weren't fertile to begin with, and egg 5 was a really early quitter. Here's what eggs 1-4 looked like:

And here is egg 5:

This was my first time hatching eggs! It was exciting and fascinating. Any input to my "findings" is welcome! These were Welsummer eggs and so the candling wasn't very clear. Also my camera isn't awesome. Lol! :D
