I bought both these babies at the same time from the same store. I always thought the grey one was maybe a day or so older.

I just can’t get over how different their colors are.

This is about 5 weeks. I’m pretty sure the white one is female as she’s starting to quack. The grey one is still squeaking so thinking male.. also the darker color. But also.. same breed? Thoughts?

Not sure on the breed, but neither one is a Welsh Harlequin. I see you purchased them at a store, do you know where the store got them from? The dark bills could be from being mixed with WH.

They both are silver. Either Silver Swedish or Silver Runners depending on how they stand (often upright would be Runners). Silver occurs when a duck gets two blue alleles. If they only get one, they are blue. Female silvers are often so light gray that they look white (but with dark bills). Males are usually light gray. This is my female crested silver Swedish.

I don’t know where they get their birds.. I should ask. I always figure they aren’t pure by any means. I was just surprised at how different they look.

Oh they definitely stand like runners. So, they’re most likely silver runners? 1 male and 1 female?
It’s crazy to me how they completely told me the wrong breed.
Your duck is beautiful!

My son was the assistant manager at our local feed store. They did not get any training or information about what they were selling which explained how I ended up with Khaki Campbell’s that they told be were Chocolate Runners years earlier. Silver Runners are beautiful birds which will breed true. I think you did well!
