Hi Congrats on your new babies. We have a chicken just like yours. We bought her and 2 others when they were just colored peeps from someone beside the road. I got a pink,blue, and a green. I think our "Spot" was the pink one. The other 2 were Buff Orpingtons. I just did some research and it is a cross between a Rhode Island Red Cock / Light Sussex Hen and called a Bovans Goldline Hybrid. Ours lays a jumbo dark brown egg. She is very friendly and we pet her all the time. She shares a coop with 8 others of various breed and she is the top of the pecking order. I am looking for more of the same breed because of those beautiful large brown eggs and being such a friendly girl. Have fun with you new brood.

Those are decinatly Bovans Goldlines, the very breed I am going to get!
