All of the pictures I have seen have the MF with a lot more chestnut coloring as the base with a little white on tips. What about these? Is this a Mille Fleur? I know it's a d'Uccle roo and hen.

Thanks for any info.

technically...yes that is what they are...in reality...not great representations of the color...or really the breed

Ok with them not being a good representation, if they produce offspring, will they likely to be more of a true coloring, or will they probable look like these? I am so trying to get a "perfect" pair of something. Not that I don't love all my chickens, but I would like to have something extra special.

they will probably look like their parents...there is just too much white...if you had a really dark roo...you could puthim on that hen and maybe...

the roo...sorry but I would not let him breed

If they a of poor quality you could try to breed once and see how the offspring turn out. Example: I have hatchery quality speckled sussex and breed my trio and got all different dispersions of color (some mostly white, some mostly red, and then the majority middle ground) I want to try select breeding to achieve the color I want. I don't ever plan on showing just want to experiment.

But if you get offspring that are more of what you are looking for it will take time a patient that might not prevail. So the quick way would be to find a better quality.

They look to be red rather than buff. And they are likely older as was noted about the amount of white. Although I do have to say that a blue mottled cochin I had was almost completely white by the time she was 2.

Have you ever heard of the "Calico Cochin" project??? You could attempt a "Calico D" project!!!! I LOVE the calicos!!!!!

Are those bantys? We are doing a separate project where we WANT all that white, but they need to be LF.
