I don't know much about hatching duck eggs, but I know a dead embryo when I see one.

What have you been doing with the incubation?

I've had the temp at 99.5 and humidity level around 50

I just looked it up, & the humidity should be at 55% for incubating duck eggs.

i have seen a bunch of different humidity levels on google so i guess i wasn't exaclty sure what to keep it at.. do you think its too close to winter to try again?

I'd hold off until spring, but it's up to you whether you want to try again, or not.
