Granny, I can't find notifications for your thread tonight, will you tag me into it please? They don't move every time. If they don't stink or have any cracks in them I would leave them in the incubator
done!Granny, I can't find notifications for your thread tonight, will you tag me into it please?
I candled them again and I agree with your assessment. Bummer but fingers crossed some of the others hatch. Thank you. These eggs look like they died pretty recently. Embryos at this age should be very active with lots of movement so if you see a dark blob just floating around that is not a good sign. At this stage of incubation, you may not see a blood ring like you would in the earlier stages. Instead, the veins will start to recede and deteriorate and form clots around the egg. I also tend to notice dead eggs will have an off color when candled. I think more orange-y? Not quite sure how to describe it.
I just double checked those eggs and I agree with you, I am thinking they died not long ago because the webbing of veins I see in the other ones has really receded. Thanks for your help.I might be able to see the faintest single vein in #1 but if so, it's tiny. You're saying there are veins on the side of the egg not pictured?
Because those eggs look like they probably died recently.
Sorry, I don't have anything to add. It does look like the question of which eggs are alive vs. dead has been pretty well settled.
