I think no but it is hard to say for sure. In a fertilized egg the white spot looks like a bulls eye. Maybe a closer picture of the white dot would help.
I saw this thread and it caught my interest. I don't wanna sound like someone who thinks eggs come from the store, but I've just been into raising my own for a year and I haven't gotten any eggs yet. So, here's my question: If they aren't fertile, then what is that white spot? Again, probably a rookie question, but eggs from the store don't have that, as far as I've noticed, and those eggs aren't fertile. Okay, maybe one more: Do fertile eggs taste any different from non-fertile ones? Sorry about jacking the post!
Here's a pic of one of my recent fertile eggs. You can see a definite bullseye instead of just the white spot. (The area below and to the right of the flash).
Interesting. The reason i am asking is because my rooster has been gone for months, at least 3. Noone else has crowed and i have seen one of my girls mount another one. I know that can happen amongst the ladies. But then i got these eggs, that look just like the ones when the roo was around.... little confused lol!
