My husband and I are new to this, most of the brown eggs we have gotten have looked perfect. We got these two today and wondered what is going on with them? We googled it but thought this would be a better resource. Thanks for any help!

I can't see that well by just looking at the picture but the egg shells look pretty thin. This means that additional calcium should be given. You can do this by buying oyster shells for chickens or taking eggshells and blending them and giving that to them. This can be given in a container and the chickens will take the amount they need. Hope this helps

Occasionally a chickens body "forgets" to put a shell on its egg if it keeps up it's probably a calcium deficiency but if it is one time it's no big deal

Go to Search Articles. Look for "Common Egg Quality Problems". I'm not very computer savvy or I'd post the link. It has a lot of interesting facts. There is another article about eggs that's good too. Welcome to BYC!
