Are these emu eggs fertile? Hatchalong

Pics
Love it....it doesn't know how to walk! Lol.
How will you tell gender when older? Do you plan to sell the hatchlings?
Lol it wiggles like a fish out of water.

I found a dna sexing company in Washington called AvianDx. Going to give them a try as it’s only $14. I’ll be vent sexing it tomorrow and see if I get it right. I heard they’re similar to ducks and easier to vent sex.

If this is a female, I have a person interested. Her female died and her male needs a mate. Hope it’s a girl!

If anyone else hatches, not sure I can let them go 🥺

It’s outside in the brooder box that’s 82 degrees inside and 95 under the lamp.

I just checked the 3 1/30s, the 2/5 and the 2/9. They’re all wiggling 😳
Sorry if I missed the post, but did this little one hatch the rest of the way on its own after you assisted or did you do a full assist? Either way great job!!

That's one adorable little baby emu!

There was no way it was going to make it out by itself. If I would have left it, it would have died for sure. The membrane was similar to concrete.

There were some blood vessels still attached at the butt, so left its butt partially in the egg to dry up.
