Are these emu eggs fertile? Hatchalong

Pics
I just found this thread again. Whenever I'm expecting a egg for hatching and it's really cold I'm out there checking for eggs like every 15 minutes.

Nothing today, so maybe tomorrow. The last gap between eggs was 4 days. Think it’s still a day too early.

It doesn’t get this cold in Western Washington, this will be interesting. Hopefully if she lays tomorrow, she will wait another 4 days to lay another. Son should then be home to check all day. Hate to waste these things!

Last winter was deep snow, but nowhere near 0. Maybe down to 25.

Wow, It's cold where you are, I'm in central Georgia and the coldest we get here is in the upper 20s, we haven't had snow since 2018.

It really doesn’t snow much here. Normally get one or two snow events each winter and is melted within a few days. So dropping down to these temps is not normal. I’m sure there are people on here that get into the negatives. We don’t! Everyone is panicking and buying heat lamps :p

Georgia is nice and cozy then (and moist) lol

Humid, and hot, in summer it get into the nineties. Very miserable, you're constantly sticky from the humidity.

That's a good point, but you don't have room anyway, it might save you some stress. a local lady sells blown emu eggs for $20 each.

Might be able to put 4 or 5 more in there. Then will be at capacity. If she lays and the egg freezes, I’ll open it up next week. Or just get a wild hair and sacrifice one.

Fertile Emu eggs go for $100 in this area. Never looked up what a blown egg goes for… I’ll have to see what Craigslist has.
