Is it fertile?
Is the incubator ready?
Has it been sanitized?
Should I wait for a couple more eggs?
It's such a beautiful green!

This is only her second year of laying. I’ve noticed they’re a different color on the first one or two. Then they seem to even out and have more pores, which changes the color.
Isn't this egg much more green than the others??? Does this happen when the girl gets older?
Such a good mama!27 hatched, 28 actually but it’s brain was outside of its skull. Not bad for shipped eggs! Really really didn’t want to use a brooder this time. So one hen took on the task. I kept putting chicks under her and all were accepted with open wings lol
Egg #2 has arrived! She laid it yesterday evening and grabbed it before it got down to 21 degrees. That’s the longest stretch she’s gone between laying. It’s usually 3 to 6 days. But 8 days she was holding that puppy in there for a while.
The color is different from the first, I’ll have to grab a photo tomorrow.
Those are good numbers for shipped eggs. So jealous! Almost all of my last foxfire babies got killed by an owl.11 out of 14 fertile Foxfire eggs...
