Are these fertile?

I think yes! Is it warm where you are? It looks like it may have started to develop for a few hours, it has the "shirt-button" look.

This was an egg my girls have been siting on for a couple days. I have 13 I collected today from a 3 day span. Do you think it will hurt these ones to sit for close to a week before possibly incubating them?
I really just want to toss them in now, but I have eggs in there that I’m really hoping might be fertile. They are about a week along right now.

Oh, I should add that I took the eggs because it will freeze overnight and be in the low 50’s the next few days. My coop isn’t insulated and the floor is cement with wood chips. I can’t imagine it stays that warm at night.

Have you candled the ones in right now? I would put these new ones in, just mark them so you don't mix these up with the others. The hen sitting would explain it. Good luck!

Yeah, I would remove them as they're laid. Unless a hen goes broody and wants to sit. Then I would leave her some.

One has and three others join her on and off just to add to her pile. She finally got off them today long enough for me to take them. I feel kinda bad, but once this cold snap passes I’ll left her keep some eggs if she still insists on sitting.

Ok. Mark her original eggs and remove any new ones. I was brought an abandoned guinea nest (26 eggs) and they varied from internally pipped to day 0. It's horrible. Your hen won't stay on the younger embryos either, they'll be left once the hen hatches the older ones. You might want to also remove chicks, all the hens I've ever seen are good setters, but awful mothers. The best success rate one hen had was of her 19 eggs, 14 hatched, 2 chicks lived to adulthood. Lol

I missed this reply.
I haven’t. I was going to wait till they hit 10-14days since I have no idea how to tell if they are growing or not. Since my first try was in a homemade incubator + all were infertile I’m only used to seeing yokes.

Haha, oh boy! What a bad mom. Lol
I don’t plan to have the mom raise any. If she ends up hatching some I’ll take them right away. I’m not keeping any keets. I have a couple people in line once I start hatching them out.
Im getting keets of different colors come July😁

Try candling them. You shpuld definitely be able to see something by now. Post some pics of the eggs and I'll let you know how they look. Hoping you see some little keets in there!
