OK, so my D'Uccle hen went broody but quit laying eggs...probably because I had dutifully stolen and eaten them all. So a friend gave me eggs for her to sit on, which she did and hatched these babies. They were born on 6/17 and are three months old today.
My friend has Japanese chickens of which one of these babies appears to be, and some Polish chickens that may have had some mixed heritage and who may have been bred by a couple different roosters...they are mutts.
The black one has some feathers on it's legs, and both have topknots on their heads although the black ones is bigger. The black one has no comb, and the ugly one has a little one. No one crows, and no one has laid an egg.
They need names...
What's your best guess if these are boys or girls?
Thanks a lot for any guesses...hope I do the pictures right.
