Are these Hens or Roosters and which is which?

I have three and the farmer told me they were all hens, I think he was wrong. Raising them from young, no eggs yet. Marin is about 28 weeks old. Both Silkies are younger.

Silkie number one is a hen, silkie number two is a roo, and the BR is a hen if it is truly 28 weeks old because it has no obvious tail feathers and is rather short to be a boy.

What are more expensive, Hens or Roosters?

Usually hens, because they produce something but the roosters are just there.... UNLESS of course you have some sort of a rare breed then they might be worth the same....

Most people give away roos, so girls go for more

If they free range all day look under your bushes and stuff for eggs. That Maran looks like she should be laying...You may have a nest or two hidden somewhere.
