I was told that these were Leghorn and RIR crosses, or 'Red Kings'. Are these the same as ISA Browns or red sex links?

Here they are:

Actually they look more like Hy-Lines to me but it really makes no difference. All this type of bird, red sex links, are very much the same. You will be delighted with them no mater what their breeding.

What they are not is a RIR and Leghorn cross. A Leghorn is a white egg layer and would never be used in a cross for birds producing brown eggs as the shell color would be very diluted.

Actually these birds mothers have the color pattern of a very pale Delaware and the fathers are like a very weak colored New Hampshire. The parents do not, however, have a body conformation simular to the aforementioned breeds. In other words the parent stock is of no recognizable breed.

Oh, thank you!

I understand more about what goes into making the sex links, now. I didn't know a whole lot about chickens when I picked up these gals, so I've been trying to pinpoint exactly what breed they are.

They look exactly like my neighbor's red sex-linked pullet. I believe they are a cross of RIR and a Delaware. It has the same penciling of white around the neck and the whitish tail feathers. Other names include Red Star, Golden Comet, Gold Star, and Cinnamon Queen.
