We bought these chicks as eggs from BYC members, and after careful weeding out and a hawk tragedy, we are left with three pullets. They will by nine weeks old tomorrow, and I wanted to know if they are show quality. I will be showing them, starting next year, in 4-H at the various fairs we have, including the well-known Cumberland Fair. I am in the Intermediate group (12-13).

This is Una, the Delaware. She is nice and fat, very docile. She's a little dirty right now, but she looooves being bathed, especially the towel.

(More pics later)

This is Bella, one of the Welsummers. She's a bit skinny right now, but we've had Welsies before so I'm sure she'll get fatter. She has no feathers on her legs.

(Again, more pics later.)

There is another Welsummer named Artemis, but she is difficult to catch so I'll have to get a pic of her later. I'm working on her people skills.

Is there any specific part of the birds that would help you?

I don't know if they are show quality but I love their names and the little stories that go with them. And if you are 12-13 you write really well, and you should take up creative writing along with your showing birds.

Thank you! I actually write a LOT (see Fatima's story in my sig line) and just finished writing my first novel. As soon as my mom is done editing it we're sending it to the agents. I want to go to college for writing. Photography on the side.

Thanks rodriguez and Master. I don't plan on showing them until next spring (1 year old). I'll post more pics when they start laying.

*Update*

Everyone is getting fatter and fatter! I gave all three baths today and they seemed to enjoy them... it was so hot that the water probably felt really nice. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow, because their body types are really showing now.
